Responsible Approach To Healthcare

Being responsible, as opposed to being reactive, is simply being able to respond. Let us first consider pain: It is a means of communication. You will feel pain because your body is telling you that part of your body has been harmed or is in danger of harm. Therefore, does it make sense to take pain or anti inflammatory medication? Isn’t that just reacting to the pain without considering the damage that is being done to your body (let alone the side effects that from taking pain medication drugs)? An extreme example of this type of irresponsibility would be taking painkiller meds for a sore hand that is resting on the hot plate of a stove… but taking meds for a headache is just the same.

What would the responsible approach be? It makes sense to identify the cause of your pain and have the cause corrected… take your hand off the stove! Remember, always ask what the cause of the cause is and test the answer with reason and logic. E.g. if you are told that the lower back pain you are experiencing is caused by inflammation, the next question is, ‘what’s causing the inflammation?’ There could be many answers different doctors come up with but if the answer is ‘joint sprain’ or ‘arthritis’… your response is ‘well what’s causing that?’

By understanding your history and performing a thorough examination, the chiropractors here can tell you how different pain and health problems have been caused, exactly which parts of the body are responsible and the most natural, safe and effective way to HAVE THE CAUSE CORRECTED.

What if your child has an ear ache? Do you react by getting antibiotics or do you act responsibly by getting them checked by your Gonstead Chiropractor so they can identify the cause? Remember that many cases of ear pain may result from a buildup of bacteria in the ear but the cause of the bacterial infection is a weak/dysfunctional immune system (the body not being able to defend itself). This is most commonly caused by nerve interference (because the nervous system controls the immune system).

Every cell, tissue, organ and system of your body is under the control of your nervous system. If dysfunctional joints of your spine cause nerve interference, then the normal control of your body parts is obstructed and that’s when health deteriorates. Any pain, any health concern, we will identify the cause for you so you know just what needs to be done to correct it!
